Nothing leaves your Mac unless you export it. Rolltop never connects to the internet. No account, no cloud, no tracking. Even your licence is checked on your Mac.

We test it. Our tests watch every connection during a real transcription, and fail if there is one.

Transcripts take your PIN. Reading one asks for it, and it locks again after 30 seconds idle. A transcript can't be exported or copied out.

Is Rolltop an AI scribe?
Yes, and more. It records the session, writes the transcript on your Mac, and drafts the note. It also keeps each patient's treatment plan, assessment, screeners and letters.
Does my data ever leave my Mac?
Only when you export it. Rolltop never connects to the internet. A note, letter or document leaves when you copy or export it, and a backup goes wherever you save it.
Is it HIPAA compliant? Do I need a BAA?
You don't need a BAA. Under HIPAA, a business associate is someone who creates, receives, keeps or sends your patients' information for you. We never do any of those. Everything stays on your Mac, and we never ask for your record. HIPAA's other duties, like protecting your Mac, stay yours. Rolltop helps: transcripts take a PIN, and backups are sealed.
Does it work offline?
Always. It never needs the internet, not even to check your licence.
Which note formats?
Rolltop drafts SOAP, DAP, BIRP, GIRP, SIRP and narrative progress notes from the session. You can also write intake, mental status exam and risk notes.
Who can buy it?
Licensed clinicians, and trainees with a licensed supervisor. We check your licence and your ID before your copy is issued.
What Mac do I need?
A Mac with Apple Silicon (M1 or later) and 8 GB of memory or more.
Who made it.
I graduated first in my psychology class and meant to become a therapist. I went into software instead. I studied how clinicians work because I wanted to be one. Rolltop is the tool I'd have wanted on my side of the room.
